Wow, 3 days in a row, that most be some kind of record! Wow, deja vu. Seriously, Seth said the exact same thing on Stephenie Meyer's website. Speaking of Stephenie Meyer, TWO NEW REFERENCE BOOKS ARE COMING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Twilight: The Official Illlustrated Movie Companion and The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Me happy, me happy, me happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Sarah, I realized you need more then just the cast in a movie, but you don't have to spoil everyone's fun.

SOOO, I realized I haven't been very random lately, so today I am going to do a lot of random stuff. Welcome to The Many Thoughts of Stephanie: The Newly Discovered Oxymoron Edition!

Dirt Poor/Filthy Rich: I brought up this one 2 days ago, but I will now go into greater detail. Shouldn't one be clean, considering their opposites? The opposite of poor is rich, and this is implying that the opposite of dirt is filthy. The opposite of dirt is water. Or clean. This just makes no sense...

Crackpot: This one isn't an oxymoron, but I just found it funny. Is the guy on crack or pot? I mean, he can be on both but he'd be a lot less fun. Generally crackpots are pretty fun. Like all my friends...

High Speed Internet: IT DOESN'T EXIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Civil War: I got this idea from a more well known oxymoron, civil divorce. But I thought the Civil War is funnier. Because it's a war, which is the exact opposite of civil. That's pretty funny...

Let me think.... I probably know others but my brain is off because I need reading material. (Breaking Dawn please!) Bye peeps!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My daddy and I are geniuses!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I'm braking the rules by updating without a review but I HAD to mention this! My dad and I have figured out how to make Wicked in to a movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know, your sceptical, but my dad and I have figured out the best cast ever!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus I learned how to link so click on the actors names and you can go to their IMDb page!!!!!! So here we go:

As Elphaba, we have Catherine Zeta-Jones. My dad said she'd snatch up the part because of her role in Chicago in 2002.

For Galinda, we decided on Reese Witherspoon. She would be great at opening the movie, and she is just so good at being blonde! (Legally Blonde, LOL!!! I heard that's a really good Broadway show and now I really want to see it!)

For Fiyero we had a lot of trouble casting. My dad was all , "It should be a popstar or someone like Usher!" And I'm all, "Dad, not only can popstars not act, but they can't sing either!" Then we had this stroke of genius: James Marsden!!!!!!!! He's a great singer, actor, and dancer and his roles in Enchanted and Hairspray make him perfect for this. He's great at doing really eccentric parts like this one and the camera loves him.

For the Wizard, I have to take credit for this idea that my dad got very excited about and is utterly perfect: Dick Van Dyke. 'Nuf said.

Madame Morrible was definitley the easiest role to cast. So many actresses can play her and they all would play her so differently. We have four ideas that would all be great: Rue McClanahan, Tracy Ullman, Megan Mullally, or Geraldine Saunders who I can't give a link to for two reasons: one, when I reaserched her using the information my dad gave me, well, she doesn't exist. And now when I try to type in her name on IMDb it automatically links me to Suzie Neumeyer, a screenwriter who only has one movie. From 1977. Yay...

For Dr. Dillamond we found the perfect actor: Kelsey Grammer. He's just so perfect! If I see him at Costco (where he frequently shops) I will ask him if he's willing.

For Boq, my father had the best idea. It will be the best comeback in show biz history if Steve Burns does the part. I mean, Boq is a very sweet, cute, and short, so who's better then Steve from Blue's Clues?????? OMG! I have the same birthday as this guy!!!!!!!!!! No wonder I am so obsessed with the Blue's Clues "Present Time" song!

Nessarose isn't that hard to cast, and basically, we think Amy Adams should do it. I don't know why, I can just see her in that wheel chair dictating all the munchkins.....

A director was definitley the hardest to come by. I forgot who my dad said would be good....... he's asleep though so I'll ask him later! We also figured that it should be shot in London because they have really big sound stages there.

Thanx for reading and sorry for the really really really long post yesterday!
P.S. If any movie peeps are out there reading this and make this into a highly succesful major motion picture using our suggestion my dad and I get profit. Or benefits (tickets to the premiere, etc.).

6/30/08

IT'S THE 30th ALREADY???? Wow, summer is going by WAY to quickly! OK, I have hade a lot of random and not so random thoughts lately and I am going to share them in my blog. 'Cause that's what it's for. I think.

Last night I finished the last book in the Mediator series by Meg Cabot, Twilight. I would say she stole the name from Stephenie Meyer this book was published about two years earlier so I can't blame Meg for theft and I love Stephenie too much to blame her for anything... OK, that sounded SO weird, but both of them are amazing authors and both Twilights were really really really good! But the plots were totally different. I mean, in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight, the first installment in the best series ever, there isn't quite enough conflict for my taste. It's an amazing book, but I think the other two in the series were better because they tested her writing ability more and had a great deal of more character development because of it's complex emotional plots. Wow, that sounded fancy! But really, everyone hates the sequels because their kind of depressing but I find them more of a challenge to digest for the reader due to the emotional overpowerment that makes you (okay fine just me) cry at the smallest gesture of love made from Bella to Edward/Bella to Jacob. Wow, more fancyness! I should do this more often. Speaking of, due to my friend Nat's and my analytical brain power combined we have figrued out the ending of the Twilight series as it will happen in the fourth and final installment Breaking Dawn that's coming out August 2nd at 12:01 in the morining and trust me, I will be there. I won't spoil the book in case someone reading this blog hasn't read the series (READ IT OR DIE FROM THE WRATH EXHIBITED IN THIE BLOG) I'd like them to figure it out for themselves. It's actually fairly obvious. And no, it doesn't involve moving to a polygamist compound in Utah.

On the other hand, Twilight be Meg Cabot has ten million grams of conflict! Really, every second you thought you had it figured out a wrench was thrown into the picture. And another wrench, and another wrench... You get the picture. Now for the summary which will be incredibley confusing to all readers who haven't already read the book:

Susannah Simon is a mediator, which means she can talk to ghosts and touch ghosts and see ghosts and hear ghosts and over all she likes helping ghosts move to the next world, what ever that may be (Heaven, Hell, Resurection...). But when she moves to Carmel, California to live with her step-dad and his three sons in their 19th century hotel turned home she finds a very handsome man in her room who is, well, dead. His names Jesse de Silva and he is flippin' awesome. (In my opinion Jesse is tied for 2nd awesomest male lead in a book with Harry Potter who are beat by a landslide by Edward Cullen taking the lead in 1st.) SOOOO as to be assumed because this is in the magical land of novelitude Jesse and Suze fall in love but that won't exactly work out because Jesse's kind of dead and if she wanted to introduce him to her mom or something she'd be all, "Ok, Mom, I'm in love with this guy named Jesse and he's really sweet and he loves my back but only I can see him 'cause he's dead and only me and a few select others can see and communicate with him. But otherwise he's awesome!" I forgot to mention her mom doesn't know about her power. Only other's with the power (Father Domninic [her principal], Paul, and Paul's brother Jack), her step-brother David, and her best friend CeeCee, know she has the power. So that was my quick skim of the first 5 books. Onto the 6th. SOOOOO this Paul guy I told you about who's also a mediator, well he claims that he and Suze can do a lot more then most mediators, which Suze finds out to be true because Paul's grandpappy (...) Dr. Slaski (renamed Mr. Slater because his son thoguht he was a crack pot and was ashamed that he claimed he could talk to the dead) prooved it. But Suze only found this out because Paul loves (or thinks he loves) Suze also and said if she didn't do mediator (or shifters as Dr. Slaski calls them) tutoring with him every Wednesday he'd send Jesse to the next dimension which, previously unknown to Suze, actually is possible. SOOOOO Suze meets the ghost of Mrs. Guiterrez who told her that in her garden she burried $2000 and she wanted Suze to give it to her children. So Suze goes to get it but Paul already got it and he decided to keep it instead of give it to the family who are dirt poor and by the way Paul is filthy rich. Woah. Dirt poor, filthy rich.... That makes no sense! Shouldn't it be like dirt poor and squeaky clean rich or something? That is strange........ Where was I? So he keeps the money. LATER: I don't remember exactly how it happens, but Paul tells Suze that he can do something to Jesse that will involve the 4th dimension or something like that and Suze is all, 'What the flip is the 4th dimension?' so she asks Jesse and he's all, 'It's time.' So Suze put's 2 and 2 together and is all, 'Holy crap! Paul is going to travel back in time and not kill Jesse which is actually really nice if you think about it but mean at the same time 'cause that means I won't meet him and I won't have a big hunk of man candy to satisfy my sweet tooth. I also won't remember he ever existed...' Except not in those words..................... So she asks Dr. Slaski (who is not a crack pot and is actually very smart) how to time travel and he says you have to do it to help a ghost you have met, you have to be holding something that belonged to him, and you have to be standing somewhere they once stood. Then picture the place and your there. You do the same to get home. But what ever you're holding on to will come with you, so don't hold onto you're kitchen counter or something 'cause it will mostlikely take the whole house with you. So she realizes that Paul doesn't own anything of Jesse's so how can he go back in time. Then, Suze is volunteering at the mission school that she attends auction where they are auctioning off a belt buckle belonging to Felix Diego (the dude who killed Jesse) that her brother Brad found in the attic. When Paul uses the money he stole to buy the belt Suze is all, 'Darn, now he has an anchor to the past!' So she momentarily flips out. THEN she realizes that the only place that was around 150+ years ago that they are positive Felix went to is her house and as long as he doesn't get into her house she's fine. LATER she realizes that the mission was around for 300 years and Felix probably went there all the time. Now she's in deep doo doo. SO she tells Jesse, and being the uber manly man he is he's all, 'Suze, let me take care of myself, I don't want you in any harm!' But Suze goes to the past anyway using the portrait she accidently on purpouse stole from the Carmel Historical Society of Jesse. So she's in the past and Mrs. O'Neil (hotel owner) kicks her out of her own house because she's dressed like a lady of the night. So Suze goes to sleep in the barn out back to find Paul there. SO they sleep up there to wait for Felix and Jesse to show up. The next morning Paul acts all nice and even get's Suze a pie to soften her up. But then he ties her to a pole and gags her. That's just the kind of guy Paul is. So she's up there for hours and hours when Jesse comes to check on his horse. Suze gets his attention by banging her heels so he comes up and unties her. Then basically she tells him that he's gonna die that night and she needs to stop his death. So he's all, 'Who ever tied you up here and dressed you in those obscene clothes must have hit you on the head too.' So after a while when she tells him every ounce of information she knows about him (which is more then anyone else because they happen to be soul mates) he beleive her. So he stays with her until Paul gets back (when he threatens to horse whip him) and then Suze explains that he was just trying to help him. Later Felix comes into the barn and Jesse's all, 'I'm just gonna stay here, my horse is under the weathers.' Later that night Felix comes back and Felix and Jesse get into a total slap fight. THEN THE KNIVES ARE BROKEN OUT! DUN DUN DUN! So Suze kind of freaks and tries to get in to the fight but Paul pushes her back and she trips on a lantern and gets trapped between a wall of fire and the back wall of the barn (can't you picture that happening to Bella from the other Twilight??). So Jesse pushes Felix off the second floor of the barn and he breaks his neck and dies. Paul returns to the future. Mean while Jesse gallantly runs through the fire, breaks a hole in the wall, and jumps with Suze out of the hole. Suze thinks so hard about going back home that she accidently goes back home and takes Alive Jesse with her. UH OH! 'Cause you see, time travel isn't healthy for mediators, but it's even worse for normal peeps. So she rushes him right to the hospital (They rushed my right to the hospital! Sure enough, acute appendicits! Sorry, Chorus Line moment..). But this guy's kind of supposed to be dead. So he has no insurance or social security or anything. THEN, major twist time! Ghost Jesse shows up all confused staring at his almost dead body and Suze crying her head off thinking she killed him. In his astonishment he touches his dead bodies leg and get's sucked in! And then Alive Jesse becomes alive for real because his soul has been reunited with his body! w00t! Now Jesse and Suze can have a functional relationship! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, then Suze's dad is able to pass on the the next life because he suceeds in making sure his daughter is happy which was his last mission on Earth. Collective AWWWW!!! That's basically it.

So that was my fancy analysis of Twilight and not so fancy analysis of Twilight. I hoped you enjoyed it!

6/26/08

It is the 26th, right? Oh what ever. With school out I've been forgetting a lot of stuff. Who cares right? "Nothing matters, and knowing nothing matters is just life, so keep dancing through!" That was a quote from the song 'Dancing Through Life" from the hit Broadway musical, Wicked. Why do I bring this up you ask? Well it brings us to todays TMTS theme: BROADWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Broadway! Who doesn't? Well, I know a few people but personally I do not understand them. Last Sunday night I saw Wicked at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood and it was absolutley amazing. I thought everyone was exagerrating when they said how good it was, but no, it was that good. It is "the untold tale of the witches of Oz." As many of you know The Wizard of Oz is my favorite move and in my opinion a work if sheer genius, so of course I was intrigued by this title. I had heard the plot before and I simply couldn't beleive that some where deep down the Wicked Witch of the West could be good. But the play really mad me beleive it, and that my friend, is the making of a good Broadway show.

After the show I walked around the corner and waited outside the dressing room door to meet: THE CAST OF WICKED! They were all so nice and they signed my playbill! Except Briana Yacavic (I think that's how you spell her last name) who played Nessarose because I didn't see her and apparently she just left really fast before we got there. When Derrick Williams, who played Fiyero, came out my friend, let's call her Chives the 2nd, went, "You're handsome. No wonder Elphaba liked you!" To which he replied, "I'd be turning red if I could!" It was hysterical! Also when John Rubenstein (the Wizard) came out, my dad had this whole conversation with him about this Broadway show he was in, Pippin, and discussing the cast and stuff. They were all really nice and I got pictures with Derrick Williams, Teal Wicks (Elphaba), and Laura Woyasz (Glinda). And like I've said in previous entrires, I'd put them on this website but I'm an honor student, and honestly I don't have the pictures...

On the topic of Broadway shows, I think you should a breif (okay, not so breif) history of why I love Broadway. When I was little, I absolutley loved the made for TV movie version of Annie (with Kathy Bates as Ms. Hannigan and Kristin Chenoweth as Lily St. Regis). So, when I was five my dad took me to see Annie at our local theatre (the same theatre where I performed Annie Get Your Gun except this theatre has two rooms and all the shows I've seen were in the big room, and I perform in the small room.) I remember being disappointed because it was kind of condensed and the sets weren't very good. But none the less, I still loved the experience.

When I was 7 I started really loving everything about theatre. I had always loved it, but now I really wanted to take it seriously and become an actress. I still think it would be amazing to act proffesionly, but I know what it takes and I've realized that yeah, it would be fun, but it's more of a dream then a goal. I still take every chance I get to act, because it is extremely fun and rewarding.

My 6th grade year I saw more Broadway shows then ever in my entire life. In the fall, I saw A Chorus Line. It is the best musical. Ever. Really, it is! I was amazed by it. It has no plot, but it is amazing! The entire thing is just an audtition to be in the chorus of a Broadway play. The songs and acting are absolutley stunning, but really that's all you pay attention too. There isn't a plot besides auditioning, and then getting or not getting the part, every character only has 2 costumes (one for the audition and one for the grand finale) and there is no set because the entire thing takes places on a stage. Some of the songs are hysterical! My personal favorite is "Hello 12, Hello 13, Hello Love" which is all the auditioners talking about there adolesence. Really, it is four different songs put together to make one big scene because so much dialouge interupts it, but it's a very magical part of the show. Another funny one is "Dance 10, Looks 3" which is sung by Val (who the director of the show I was in played on Broadway!) and she is talking about how after she got plastic surgery she suddenly started getting jobs. Of course, the most famous songs are probably "One," "What I Did for Love," and "The Music and the Mirror." I did notice a difference between the music of Wicked and Chorus Line that I found intriguing, since I love the music of both shows so much. Wicked is composed by Stephen Schwartz, and I've found that in his compositions he puts a lot of focus into the lyrics. But in Chorus Line, with music by Marvin Hamlish and lyrics by Edward Kleban, I found that the main focus was on the music, considering it is a show about dancers and every songs has at least one dance break. Both of the shows have amazing scores.

The winter break after I saw Chorus Line I saw The Lion King, which I liked for the exact opposite reasons I liked Chorus Line. The best thing about this show is the sets and costumes that recreate the African savannah in such a unique way. All the songs have the familiarity of a true Disney classic, but with a different twist. In that time pretty much every animated Disney movie's music was composed by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. But in The Lion King the team was made up of Elton John, Tim Rice, and Hans Zimmer. These men have a similar style of the others, but it still has a more modern twist that makes it so special.

Later that year I saw the Mel Brooks musical, The Producers. With Mel Brooks, you know you are getting a spoon full of comedy through out the entire performance. The songs, sets, costumes, and acting were all so eccentric and hysterical, that it looses all seriousness, even though they are singing about Hitler and his Nazis at various times during the play. With Bialistock and Bloom, you know you are in for dozens of laughs for every song. My personal favorites are "Betrayed" which Bialistock sings from his jail cell, basically reviewing how he got there, and "If You've Got It, Flaunt It" which Ula the secretary/receptionist signs as an attempt to get her job as secretary/receptionist. Both of these songs made me laugh harder then most of the others in the play. I also like "I Want to be a Producer" because that's just a really really good song.

Wow, I'm practically getting blisters on my fingers from typing so much! And that's not even every show I've seen. I've also seen Sunset Boulevard at the Hollywood Bowl. When I saw that though, I saw the movie version on stage with the full score of the movie being played in the pit. But the entire cast was using scripts and there weren't any sets or costume changes. Basically, it was like a table read except they did blocking. It was still a great experience. I also have seen an off-Broadway production called Mermaids based on the movie of the same title. That was really funny and the cast was amazing (wink wink you know who you are wink wink).

I am done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My fingers are sore! Bye for now. Oh wait, I forgot to announce my new policy: If you don't review, I don't update! Now I'm done. Bye!

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've finally put my finger on why I don't like boy teachers. They don't get stuff. Like, emotioanl stuff. Today an social studies, the Chipmunk Fariy pulled out these index cards. On the first day of school we had filled them out with stuff about ourselves, and I told him (because people who had him before said he would be doing this) not to read my card. I remembered what I wrote and I realized how stupid it was and I didn't want my entire class to hear it. But he read it anyway. Not all of it, but enough to cause giggles through out the room. And the people in the front row saw the rest. At least he gave it back to me. Now I can shred it. Destroy the evidence! Sorry I haven't updated in forever, but I've never had something important to say, and now I do. I want all guy teachers out there to honor their students requests. Please.

Happy end of school year! Tomorrows the last day!!!!!!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!! NO MORE UNSENSITIVE GUY TEACHERS!!!!!!!!!

5/17/08

Why do teachers find intense joy in torturing their students??????????????????????? My school's open house is next week, so we have a million projects due around now. First off all, on Monday, in language arts we have our complete taxonomy due. The taxonomy was a project where we picked a subject, and we had six questions we had to answer through some form of a project, the first being the easiest and sixth being the hardest. On Monday we have to bring it to school in a decorated box so we can put them on display. Joyous.

Also on Monday is our Olde Worlde Faire poster due. OWF is a project where each social studies class is assigned at time period (for me, Medeival Europe) and then each group within the class is assigned a job from that time period. I'm a jeweler. The first thing we had to do was write individual reports with really annoying requirements. Now, our second part is coming up. Our group had to make a poster and oral presentation about it. That is what's due on Monday. Then, on May 30th there will be a market thing set up where each group gets a booth and we have to barter our wares. My group is making clay jewelry, which is A LOT harder and more annoying then it seems. Oh yeah, and we have to have costumes. Ew...

Project tres: ME MAGAZINE!!!!!!!!!!! We have to make a magazine about ourselves in language arts. It is sooooooooooooooooooo stupid. We have and About Me section where we have ou autobiography in two pages or less, an autobiographical incident, and a biopoem. Then we have a math section, science section. history section, express yourself section, a stuff you do in your free time section, and what ever other random stuff you wish to include. This is due on Thursday, and I am just soooo excited. Yay.

We've had a million other projects this school year too. So I can not wait one more minute for summer! Not one!

5/10/08

OMABCJRE3 YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO sorry I neglected my be-a-UTIFUL readers for so long!!!!! You know, with my mom on the other side of the world and all..... Yeah. She went to Israel. Without me. Me whose most foreign vacation was to Canada. But I will go to Israel!!! The summer after this summer to be exact. But, my mom is coming back on MONDAY and I will probably miss the first few periods to be all, "I LOVE YOU MOMMY NEVER LEAVE ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!" like I have every morning when I call her on the phone (most of the times in which I had added loving and real tears). BTW, did I mention that Israel is TEN HOURS AHEAD!!!!! Seriously, it's 6:30 in the morning there as I write this at 8:30. SO UNFAIR. Well, I'm sorry I haven't updated in an attempt to keep my house from catching on fire (which failed). But yesterday my grandma and grandpa came and my grandma is this totally AMAZING cook (my mom got it from her) so I've been pigging out for the past 24 hours while Snickers and Sars work on our project that is worth 25% of our social studies grade (while meanwhile RUSTING MY HOT GLUE GUN that I so graciously let them borrow). Sorry I haven't helped, but you know, gotta feed the kids.

You probably noticed this sentence in the past paragraph:
Well, I'm sorry I haven't updated in an attempt to keep the house from catching on fire (which failed).
You are probably thinking: IT FAILED!!!!!!!!!!! OMG STEPHANIE DIED AND IS NOW UPDATING FROM HEAVEN!!!!! (hey G-d, what up in the hizz-house?) WE MUST HOLD AN EMERGENCY MEMORIAL SERVICE TO MOURN THIS TRAGIC LOSS THAT WILL PROBABLY CAUSE A FALL IN THE STOCK MARKETS AND A DOWN HILL FALL OF OUR ECOMONMY!!!!!!!!!
No, that is not what happened, but I am touched at your reaction. Here's what really happened:
I was attempting to make a delicioso meal (dont'cha love my Espanol???) of schnitzel, coos-coos, and corn. And my mom always told me to turn the pan handles away from me and towards the inside of the counter. So of course, being the awesome good girl I am, I took this advice. Well, the handle from the schnitzel got WAY too close to the burner under the coos-coos. Basically, the handle caught on fire. Yeah.... I'm an awesome arsonist like that. My dad said it was the best meals we've had all week. Considering the Chinese food we had the night before, it was. (Let's just say, on the box the chicken looked REALLY good, but it looked like puke when we made it. Remember when I puked Raman noodles and strawberries Sars? That's what it looked like. End of story.)

So, at school we've been STAR testing (they were the easiest tests we've taken all year, seriously) and it has given me SO much time to read. In the past week I have finished four books. I know, it isn't much, but I've been uber busy latley, so I'm proud. Did you guys know that Meg Cabot is frikken amazing??? She has written sooo many great books. They're like Frosted Flakes. They're moooooooooooooooore than good! They're GRRRRRRRRREAT! I had Fruit Loops this morning. I haven't had Frosted Flakes in ages. They are GRRRRREAT. Tony the Tiger does not lie I tell you! What was I saying? Oh yeah, Meg Cabot. A-MAZING! And so is Sarah Mlynowski. Wait! I've got a plan!!!!! I will review the four books I've read in the past week! (all for girls ages 10 and up, excpet maybe Emily Ebers. I'd rate it lower, but it disguses "Mr. Monthly" as Sars likes to call it....)

So Totally Emily Ebers by Lisa Yee: Eh, it's okay. Let's just say, I wouldn't have read it if my sister hadn't dragged me to a Megan McDonald/Lisa Yee book signing AND Lisa Yee wasn't coming to my school for an assembly on Wednesday. That's a double whammy. It's about a girl named Emily Ebers who moves from Allendale, New Jersey to Rancho Rosseta, California fresh out of 6th grade with her recently divorced mom, Alice. There she meets Millicent Min, the only girl worse at volleyball then she is, and the quickly become best friends. There's also Stanford Wong, who just might turn out to be more then just a friend. The book is written through a series of letters to Emily's dad, who is supposedly on a comeback tour with his band, The Talky Boys.

Bras and Broomsticks by Sarah Mlynowski: When shoes appear on Rachel Weinsteins feets that DEFINITLEY weren't there this morning, she knows something is up. She never excpected the biggest practical joke alive: Her mother tries to convince her that her 12 year old sister, Miri, is a witch. But this is no joke. She really is magical! Together, Rachel and Miri see what situation magic can get them into. Especially where their dad and his fiance come in....... I picked up this book because I saw a sign at Barnes and Nobles that E. Lockhart, Sarah Mlynowski, and Lauren Myracle are doing a book signing there. I don't regret it. It was very funny and I can't wait to get my paws on the sequel.

The Ninth Key by Meg Cabot: The second installment of the Mediator series, I was not disappointed. In the first book, Susannah Simon moves from New York, New York to Northern California when her mother get's remarried. Susannah is sent to a Catholic private school where she soon discovers she shares a talent with the headmaster, Father Dominic: They can both speak to dead people. Only Suze thinks of it as more of a curse then a gift like Father Dom does. In this book, Suze is awoken by screams of a tear stricken ghost giving her an important message. This leads her to solving a series of crimes, and she makes new friends along the way. I loved the ending, definitley a shocker. I got the third book this morning, and I'm really excited.

Teen Idol by Meg Cabot: Jenny Greenley has always been that girl next door in her tiny town in Indiana. Everyone loved her and trusted her with her inner most secrets. Especially since she was secretly the high school's advice columnist Annie! All the teachers and adminastrators deeply trusted her because of this, and that is why they gave her the most secret job in the school. To guide Hollywodd heart-throb, Luke Striker, through the school for two weeks, without reaveling his identity, in order for him to study for his new role. This book definitley has it's moments, and I can definitley relate to her at some points. But I was disappointed by it's lack of surprises and twists. The ending was very predictable, but pleasing.

So, that is what I've been reading this week. I got soooo inspired by my love of the written word, that for my Leonardo da Vinci project in social studies I inventind:
THE BOOK IN A BOX!!!! (DUN DUN DUN)
This is a glass box you install to the wall of your shower that you can put a book in so you can read, while taking care of hygiene needs, without getting your book drenched. This comes complete with automatic page turners!!!!
Isn't that brilliant? Yay!!!!!!!!!! I love the word brilliant. It's so British. I love British things. I was wondering, why is it that books written in America don't have to be translated to be sold in Canada, but they do to be sold in England? But books written in England usually aren't translated to be sold in America? Well, I assume it's because they use a lot of different terminology in England. Here, if a guy came up to you and asked for a jumper, you'd give them a strange look and wonder why they asked for a dress. In England you'd give them a sweater.
Speaking of British stuff, when I saw The Lion the Witch in the Wardrobe on the big screen, I thought Georgie Henley (Lucy) was ADORABLE!!! My sister told me today that she's older then me. Wow. I'm going to go to my source really fast and look that up. Oh, she's only three months older then me. Big whoop, we could be in the same class.
OH MY ALICE BELLA CARLISLE JASPER ROSALIE EDWARD EMMETT ESME!!!!!!!!!! I SAW THE TWILIGHT TRAILER AND PRINTED THE POSTER!! My friend took the poster but oh well. AND today at Barnes and Nobles I saw THE HOST!!!!!!!!! I am so reading that when I have time. It's on my list. And as Sars knows it's a VERY long list so I won't go into detail. I can't wait until May 31st (Breaking Dawn chapter one AND the cover is realised AND New Moon in paper back), August 2nd (BREAKING DAWN hits shelves at 12:01 [and trust me, I'll be there]), and December 12th (Twilight the movie comes out!!!!).
Soooooooooooooooo, that's all I have to say. You better be happy about that because it took me and hour and two minutes to right. Also, I will never, EVER, be a phlebotomist in my life. I would rather be almost anything then that. Make that one hour and four minutes. Now for real, I am done.
