This is my last post of summer vacation. That depresses me.

You guys (who ever you may be) have probably realized by now my summer hasn't been the best. It started out with a flu-like disease, which last through the first week of summer school. Then I had four healthy, but still torturous, weeks of summer school to endure, and on the sixth and final week I developed a bad case of bronchitis and had to take awful medicine that turned my teeth yellow.

Once summer school ended I was still sick and avoided going out and infecting others. But even when I was better, there was nothing to do anyways considering the majority of my friends where on vacations. Vacations I don't get to go on. Then when they got back, I got grounded for reasons that will not be disclosed at this point in time and I am staying grounded until school starts. I also got my cell phone taken away. SOB.

And also I had to read two books and write essays on them. I'm not done with the second book and school starts on Wednesday. But I'm almost done so all is well.

But I should not focus on the negative. I got to go to the mall with my mom on... yesterday because I was in dire need of clothes to wear to school. I am strong believer in the philosophy that ever new year needs a brand new outfit. Preferably two.

Anyways I got a new dress, a pair of jeans, a multitude of t-shirts and tank tops, a beret, a belt, a few bracelets, some necklaces, a pair of sandals, a pair of converse, hair stuff, and when we bought a bat mitzvah present at the Coach store they gave me a free Coach notebook and box of pencils. I did well.

That paragraph will probably lead you to believe that I'm a spoiled rich kid and am unaffected by the recession. But this is untrue. I do live comfortably enough and I have it better then a lot of people but a shopping spree like that is not the norm for me and was very special. I also had a $50 gift card to Forever 21, so a lot of that was free for me, and a lot was from Macy's where everything is on sale, all the time. The shoes were from TJ Maxx. So don't judge.

Then today I went to Snicker's younger sister's bat mitzvah which was.... interesting. Ili did an amazing job at the service and it was very emotional. I felt like I needed to look away. But she did a phenomenal job.

The reception was.... interesting. The food was great. The desserts were delicious. But all I'm saying is these kids do not know how to party. I know they are new to the bat mitzvah era, but they did it wrong. They basically stood around the dance floor and sort of sung along. Where was the dancing and jumping like maniacs???? Why was no one screaming and belting out the songs, even if they didn't know the words???? WHY DID NO ONE GET INJURED???

Eventually Sars and I got fed up and went outside. Snickers was ignoring us to be with her family anyway.

In short, it wasn't like the good old bat mitzvahs of my day. But it was nice. And I appreciated the food.

Speaking of birthdays, happy birthday to Gene Kelly (the amazing) and Neil Cicierega (the hysterical). You two men are AWESOME.

Now I really have to work on my summer reading!

I'm at that stage in summer where I know I really don't want summer to end, and yet, I want it too.

Don't get weirded out or anything, it's just that I'm so bored beyond belief! Every day's the same. I wake up at 12 because I stay up until 2 and I spend all day on my computer and watching TV. I SHOULD be writing my essays but as always I am a procrastinator and never do what I should be doing. And of course my friends are gone. That's a bummer.

My friend Julia came back from Alaska on Friday and I spent all day with her yesterday and slept over at her house. Because it was her birthday yesterday. This led us to eat sooooooo much junk food that I never want to eat again.

Our day went like this: We went out to eat lunch at Pick Up Stix and then went to see Bandslam, which was actually a really, really, really, good movie even though the commercials only showed stupid parts, where we at popcorn and Raisnets (chocolate covered. Sorry inside joke). Afterwords we went to get ice-cream and pick up cake mix to bake her birthday cake. Then we went out to dinner at an Italian place where we had gnochhi that we couldn't finish and had bread pudding we couldn't finish. Then we got movies at Blockbusters (Airplane!, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and Clueless) and went back to her house and baked the cake and ate it and watched the movies. Well, we never got to Clueless.

Pop Quiz! Did Julia and I eat anything with nutritional value yesterday?

If you said no, you would be correct. We ended up feeling really sick.

The rest of my week I've been home. Well I went to my neighbor Ashley's house where I saw The Hunchback of Notre Dame for the first time and it was very good. What I don't understand is how it was rated G. It was so inappropriate! I mean it was all in a way that just goes over kids heads but I still don't think it should be rated G. I need to have a word with the MPAA.

Happy birthday to Angela Basset, Madonna, Steve Carell, Vanessa Carlton, Cam Gigandet, and Evanna Lynch!

Now back to doing nothing.

Hello my readers who don't exist! I have finally had a pleasant summer week of doing NOTHING. Well, I've been sick but it's not as bad as it used to be and the antibiotics have turned my teeth a disgusting shade of yellow and now matter how much I brush them nothing happens, but otherwise, not much.

I did go to two birthday parties though. One was for a friend of mine and we ended up going to the wrong place.... then we went to the right place and we had fun. It was in a rather large house so when it got late we separated into sleeping and staying up late rooms so as not to annoy people. I was in the staying up late room obviously. I was also the first to wake up which never happens and it was so boring for the whole ten minutes until other people got up.

Straight from there I went to my grandmother's surprise party that was at my cousins house. And they live in this house that's literally right on the beach and it's so gorgeous! It's the way ignorant people believe all Californians live, walking everywhere, going to the beach every day... if their neighbors were celebrities it would be perfect! I walked down to the beach with one of my cousins and we did a random photo shoot and put our feet in the water. We didn't swim or anything. But the beach was amazing because no one was there except people in their neighborhood. And the weather was perfect. Even though I hate the ocean I wouldn't mind living like that. Except the school system in the area sucks and it's not like we could afford private school.

And that's about everything that's happened. Otherwise I've watch TV, been on the computer.... and sort of done my summer reading for honors.

I know, I know, I've been living a sedentary lifestyle (health vocab word!) but:
a) I've been sick.
b) It's hot outside.
c) What am I supposed to do anyway?

Honestly people always try to sell exercise in this light that it's fun and you feel energized afterwords and you get endorphins released yadda yadda yadda. None of it's true! After I exercise I feel like I want to take a shower and go to sleep. It makes me feel exhausted and awful! I understand that games like soccer can be fun for some people, but not me. But even though people like sports, how can they like regular exercise like gym stuff or running? It's boring and NOT FUN.

I asked my parents if I could do yoga. I've tried it before and that is fun and relaxing and you actually do burn a lot of calories. It works on core strength. Like dancing except not. That made sense.....

Well that's about it.... birthday time! Happy birthday to Whitney Houston, Anna Kendrick, and Forrest Landis (that hyperlink got messed up...). Yay. Most of my friends birthdays are in the summer and I've been going to so many parties that it makes me REALLY want it to be my birthday.

Ok that's it. Now I'm going to "do my summer reading." BYE!

8/2/09

Well I had a fun-filled last week of summer school!

Just kidding. The week was just me sicker then I have ever been, but at school. I had a fever and I was coughing and it was just awful because I couldn't miss anything! And I had final exams on Thursday so I had to be there for the (little) review. It was very stressful.

On Thursday after school my mom took me to the Minute Clinic at CVS Pharmacy because I wanted to avoid going to the regular doctor at any cost. I was diagnosed with bronchitis. Yay.... AND she gave me the biggest pills ever!!! I measured- they're nearly an inch each and I have to take them twice a day. So to make it easier, my mom cuts them in half, crushes them, mixes it in chocolate pudding, and puts some sprinkles on it. It's better then swallowing it.

But Thursday night my dad and I went to Fiddler on the Roof starring the legendary Topol as Tevye. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity considering it's his farewell tour. We sat in the 16th row! The performance was amazing, I kind of expected Topol to be more mellow and not as energetic, but he completely was able to do the performance just as great as in the movie. I also loved the sets, they were like dollhouses cause they opened and closed... it's hard to explain but they were so cool!

I walked to the stage door when it was over but no one was there! What's up with that? Topol I DEMAND an explanation! I was expecting to get an autograph and picture and I will not feel like I got my money's worth until I do.

Then I came home and threw up until two a.m. Did I mention I coughed through out the show even though I had cough drops?

So Friday and Saturday I stayed at home and did nothing because I was so tired from staying up all night coughing. But Saturday around six p.m. my mom was on Facebook and her friend is all, 'My asthma's acting up and I don't want to go to Cats tonight and annoy everyone that sits around me. Does anyone want the tickets?' So my mom called her and asked her how much they were and she said free and my mom said NO and she said YES and my mom said she wanted them and we got them and I saw Cats last night and coughed and annoyed everyone around us.

Did I mention the tickets were 10th row center? A.K.A. the best seats in the house!!!!!!!!

I've had the best bronchitis ever! Except for the bronchitis part.

So now I am in my solitude watching E! Where Are They Now shows about child stars from the '80s. I have an awesome life right now.

Happy birthday to Mary Louise Parker and to Kara and Shelby Hoffman! I've barely heard of them also don't worry. But no offense... Ok never mind.

Now I will proceed to cough my lungs out. Good bye!
